Winds of change

New data released this month has revealed that the global capacity for fully operational offshore wind farms has increased by 15 per cent over the past 12 months. The year-on-year increase – as detailed by the EnergyPulse Insights report – indicates a rise of 10.7 gigawatts in comparison to this time last year, a figure that is put into context by the statistic that a single gigawatt can generate enough electricity to power over one million homes for the year.

The surge in the performance of offshore wind is reflected in the growth of national trade exhibition Global Offshore Wind, which has already sold out months ahead of its June edition at the London ExCeL. Anticipated to attract over 5000 attendees, this year’s edition will focus on the UK’s goals to maximise its offshore potential by 2030 as part of the organiser’s Mission: Possible programme.

With extensive experience in building for the sector, Smart Display is working alongside the exhibition to deliver sustainable exhibition stands which align to the event’s core credentials.

“This is an exciting time for the offshore sector,” says Smart Display’s sales manager Ben Rose. “The infinite and consistent supply of offshore energy is more important that ever, and the news that our capacity as a nation to generate this power has surged is proof that this sector is teetering on the edge of a new chapter of growth. We have worked with leaders in the offshore field – including Beam, NOR Offshore Rental and the Doris Group – and, thanks to our commitment to sustainable exhibition stand build, we are the set to be partner of choice for many more.”

Since its inception, Smart Display has adopted a revolutionary approach to selecting recycled and re-usable materials wherever possible for its stand installation. Ten years on, the installer is continuing its journey with an investment into its sourcing process to keep even more materials out of landfill, and to maximise cost-efficiency for clients as well as aligning with their eco ideals.

Now, as Global Offshore Wind returns to the ExCeL with 180-strong line up of exhibitors, Smart Display has increased its capacity to take on more projects with clients seeking a sustainable and inspiration stand design.

Organised by RenewableUK, Global Offshore Wind takes place at the London ExCeL on 17 and 18 June. If you have booked your space and want to work with your industry’s trusted partner for exhibition stand design, get in touch today #wemakeevents.
