The business of change

Smart Display returns to the B2B Marketing Expo this year with a specific focus on helping brands to revolutionise their market position through their exhibition presence. The move comes following an increase in the number of brands requesting that Smart Display take a “blank canvas” approach to their stand design, challenging the stand designer to go back to square one when it comes to creating an exhibition stand that presents the right message within a business-to-business context.

As a leader in its field, Smart Display is representing all aspects of exhibition stand design and build at the B2B Marketing Expo next month. The company will exhibit as part of a wide portfolio of specialist B2B services, allowing marketing professionals to quickly and efficiently partner with the best suppliers across the full spectrum of direct and indirect marketing.

Last year’s event was a resounding success for Smart Display, and many connections forged at the event have evolved into longstanding business relationships.

“We had little idea as to what to expect from the event having never exhibited before, but the visitors we had to the stand were serious, business-minded professionals seeking a creative and dynamic stand-builder,” says Smart Display’s sales manager Ben Rose. “One of our biggest success stories has been our partnership with the bilstein group, who approached us at the Expo and challenged us to adopt with a blank canvas approach to their stand design. In particular, they wanted us to suggest new and innovative ways to present their product to the sector, and subsequently engage customers to take a fresh look at their business and sub-brands.”

The resulting design – which incorporated an innovative acrylic product showcase bathed in LED light, a striking 4m video wall and re-used elements in the name of sustainability – certainly hit all the right notes. The bilstein group was so impressed with the design for the UK Garage & Body Expo that they immediately re-booked Smart Display to install again at Dublin’s Autotrade Expo, and the stand won the prize for best stand at both events.

And the bilstein group isn’t alone in redefining its market presence through its exhibition stand presence. More recently, Smart Display was challenged by deep technology company Beam to launch its rebrand with a striking exhibition presence at trade event Wind Energy Hamburg. Under strict embargo, the rebrand of the company from Rovco and Vaarst to new brand name Beam heralded an exciting new chapter of development for the company, which specialises in automating offshore energy through artificial intelligence and underwater robotics.

“We have been using Smart Display for quite some time now and, for the past few years, our stand briefs have become more challenging and complex,” says Beam’s senior marketing manager Claire Anderson. “However, the team delivered the stand reliably and on time, and never fails to deliver the stand to the spec that we asked for.”

Now as attention turns to the new circuit of exhibitions for 2025 and beyond, Smart Display is poised to work with a range of new brands across the full spectrum of trade sectors. This year’s B2B Marketing Expo is a chance for brands looking to redefine their exhibition presence to see Smart Display’s past portfolio of designs, talk through its sustainable approach to exhibiting with the on-site team and of course, see impactful and innovative stand build first-hand with Smart Display’s very own striking stand build.
