Team on tour
As the exhibition industry starts to prepare for its busy autumn season, the Smart Display team is primed for two months of installations at a host of venues all over the UK and Europe. During what are traditionally the busiest months of the year on the exhibition calendar, Smart Display is already booked to travel to over 15 venues in September and October, with multiple exhibitions at each destination.
Birmingham’s NEC and London’s ExCeL continue to be the most-frequented venues for the Smart Display team, with 14 and five client installations respectively throughout the months of September and October. The team is however travelling further afield to Dublin, Edinburgh, Milan and various venues across Germany for a varied portfolio of exhibitions this autumn.
“Autumn is always our busiest time and this year is no exception,” says Smart Display’s sales manager Ben Rose. “We have a very high return rate so a lot of our bookings have been established on the calendar months in advance by our existing clients who want to be sure of working with Smart Display for their entire exhibition schedule. We do however do all we can to accommodate new clients looking to work with their industry’s trusted partner for stand design and build, and we have a good number of new recruits joining us for the first time at events in September and October.”
Smart Display is installing at a varied portfolio of events across the full spectrum of sectors including vehicle rental, highway maintenance, solar energy, pet care, healthcare, satellite technology, autosports, interior design, health and safety and transportation. It’s an eclectic mix that ensures no two days are the same, but the installations team are well-primed for the busy few months ahead.
“We always get the stand over the line,” says Smart Display’s installations manager Alex McGrath. “It means working until the job is done, and often under the scrutiny of health & safety officials or the clients themselves. But even after all these years and hundreds if not thousands of builds, we have never missed a deadline.
“Working and living together in such close proximity does mean that we have to become a sort of family. We get involved in every aspect of making each stand come to life, and we won’t ever down tools until the job is done.”
