Second sight
The second edition of 100% Ophthalmology has been confirmed by show organisers, following its successful debut this year. The unique event – organised by the Association of Optometrists (AOP) – is collocated with sister event 100% Optical, and targets a niche of its own with a range of suppliers and specialists dedicated to overcoming eye conditions.
In an effort to maintain the event’s niche identity, visitors will now have to undergo a new approval process for registration. Those in the ophthalmology community to register for free, and will received a badge once their identity has been verified. Non-ophthalmologists are welcome to attend the co-located 100% Optical show, which celebrated its tenth anniversary this year and targets the more general vision and sight sector.
“100% Ophthalmology 2025 has its own identity, website, social channels and an approved registrations process differentiating the two distinct sectors of the Optical exhibitions,” says event director Marlon Cera-Marle. “100% Ophthalmology is set to be bigger and better this year as we’ve listened to and taken on board key visitor and exhibition feedback from our debut show last year, while 100% Optical is entering a new decade following our anniversary exhibition last year and features a whole new look and opportunities. We can’t wait for visitors and exhibitors to see it!”
Since launching in 2014, 100% Optical has quickly established itself as the largest and only dedicated optical event in the UK, attracting 11,725 visitors from across the UK and overseas. Showcasing around 250 exhibitors, the annual event provides a platform for professionals to source the latest eyewear, contact lenses, technology and solutions for their businesses while networking with like-minded professionals in the sector.
As a regular installer at the event, Smart Display is the optical sector’s trusted partner for exhibition stand design and build.
“We were impressed with the professional and friendly approach from Smart Display, as well as the high-quality workmanship,” said Christian Oster on behalf of BVI Medical at this year’s show. “Working with Smart Display takes away a huge element of work for us, as well as making us look more professional.”
The team at BVI Medical was impressed with its stand design that it tasked Smart Display with reconfiguring the elements for a further event in Ireland this May. In line with the brand’s core value of “keeping the future in focus”, Smart Display’s design team reconfigured BVI Medical’s original 5 x 2.5m design to a 3 x 3m stand with the same clean, minimalist styling befitting of the medical profession.
Would-be attendees of 100% Ophthamology can register here, while registration for 100% Optical will go live in October. Both events will take place at the London ExCeL on 1-3 March next year.
