Resounding success

Smart Display’s debut exhibition has been hailed a resounding success, following two days of networking, lead generation and firm business enquiries for the year ahead. The stand designer and installer built a stand of its own for first time at the B2B Marketing Expo, drawing on its years of expertise in designing and building stands for hundreds of clients across the full breadth of sectors.

“Having established ourselves as the go-to name for bespoke exhibition stand design and build, the time felt right to build a stand of our own at our first exhibition,” says managing director Chris Stewart. “We chose the B2B Marketing Expo because it seemed to be the right platform from which to network with a range of businesses from SMEs to international companies looking to partner with a specialist stand designer.

“Across the two days, we were impressed with not only the level of footfall, but the calibre of visitors we welcomed onto the stand. Enquiries ranged from businesses looking to graduate from shell scheme to something more bespoke, established exhibitors looking to take their brand to the next level and newer businesses looking to break into exhibiting with an established stand installer who can project manage the procedure on their behalf.”

Smart Display was one of 200 exhibitors at the two-day exhibition, which took place at London’s Excel on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Although final visitor numbers are yet to be confirmed, pre-registration and perceived footfall indicate that the number will surpass last year’s figure of 6000 attendees.

Smart Display took the opportunity to demonstrate how stand design can be a sustainable process without any compromise to the overall impact of the stand’s aesthetics. The stand incorporated elements from previous exhibition stands, in line with Smart Display’s ethos of avoiding landfill wherever possible.

Additional features included a living wall contrasting with a neon logo which will be retained and re-used, neon edging and a rotating hanging neon structure which rose far above any other stand in the exhibition hall. LED resin lettering on the counter was also a talking point, inspiring would-be clients with its speed- and colour-changing capabilities, controlled by remote control or via an app.

“Our stand certainly got the message across for us and created the exact impact that we envisaged at the design concept stage,” continues Chris. “Visitors were stopping in the aisles to admire our neon features, LED lighting, living wall and overall statement design, and we lost count of the number of visitors who congratulated us on having the best stand at the exhibition.”
