Open for business
The 30th edition of the Business Travel Show has been officially opened by BBC News broadcast journalist Tanya Beckett, who delivered the inaugural speech at the London ExCeL this morning. The veteran broadcaster welcomed suppliers and buyers alike with a thought-provoking seminar exploring the implications of recent geopolitical events on the business world, and what the future may have in store in post-election Britain.
Making up one of the 200-strong portfolio of suppliers was Nexus Vehicle Rental, the UK’s largest supply network of rental vehicles. As the supplier of choice for commercial vehicle hire, Nexus is presenting its full-service offer of cars, vans, HGVs and electric vehicles available to businesses with full flexibility with regards to timeframes and fleet size.
The Business Travel Show is the latest in a run of exhibitions for Nexus, who have trusted Smart Display to install and build five exhibition stands in the past 12 months alone. Having exhibited at Fleet & Mobility Live, Highways, the CV Show, UK Construction Week and most recently the Business Travel Show, Nexus is testament to Smart Display’s business model of re-using stand components for both sustainability and brand continuity.
“We’ve had some good feedback from both staff and visitors at previous exhibitions, so all credit to the Smart Display team,” says Adam Archer, the firm’s marketing manager.
Over the next two days, Nexus Vehicle Rental will build upon the success of its previous exhibitions by targeting the niche sector of business travel customers. Now in its 30th year, the Business Travel Show has evolved since its inception in 1994 to better reflect and serve the needs of the contemporary business traveller, for whom greener options and a reduced carbon footprint are a primary concern when undertaking essential business travel.
In total, 700 visitors are expected at the ExCeL today and tomorrow. As well as having the chance to connect with suppliers such as Nexus, hotel chains, airlines, tour operators, event organisers and software specialists, attendees can participate in a vibrant conference programme featuring a wide portfolio of inspiring speakers. Key issues include catering for travellers with additional needs, the effects of wars and political unrest, climate change and technological advancements such as online booking tools and developments in artificial intelligence.
“Over the past 30 years, technological advancements have empowered corporate travel managers with unprecedented efficiency, flexibility and control, while also enhancing the overall travel experience for business travellers,” says Louis Magliaro, group executive vice president at event organiser the Business Travel News Group. “As we look ahead, continued innovation in technology is poised to further revolutionise corporate travel management, driving greater convenience, cost savings, sustainability, traveller wellbeing and satisfaction in the years to come. And there’s no better place for buyers to discover them than at Business Travel Show Europe, which has consistently provided a platform for innovation since 1994.”
