New sector for ESS
The UK’s largest environmental exhibition ESS has introduced a new sector for 2024, taking its total number of exhibition categories to five. The Air Pollution Control Expo – or APC – will bring together experts in the waste management and waste energy sectors, as well as presenting a range of thought-provoking presentations dedicated to improving air quality and reducing emissions.
The Expansion of ESS (Environmental Services & Solutions Expo) is testament to the prominence of the annual event, which has become a primary focus for a bigger range of suppliers due to increased awareness of environmental matters. Having only launched last year in line with the Government’s pledge to achieve a net-zero carbon footprint by 2050, the show has been hailed a “transformative movement”, and a “pioneering platform”.
“We were delighted to launch ESS and expand our already established portfolio of environmental events to cover new critical areas,” says managing director at event organiser Roar B2B Rob Mowat. “Globally, people are facing challenges associated with climate change and we think ESS in the UK is perfectly positioned to become the platform for industry-wide engagement and encourage collaborations that could have far-reaching impact across the environmental services sector. It will offer unique opportunities for businesses, environmental experts, and policymakers to connect and collaborate, ultimately driving the change required to safeguard our planet.”
Roar B2B is anticipating over 12,000 attendees from over 64 countries this year, ranging from Government professionals focused on improving environmental performance to contractors at the heart of the sector.
“This expo is a pivotal platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange, and has become essential in driving forward our journey towards a greener and more ecologically balanced planet,” continues Mowat. “The expo has become as transformative movement as the premier event dedicated to showcasing the latest innovations and solutions in the fields of circular economy, net-zero emissions, sustainability and biodiversity conservation.”
The relevance of net zero to every business sector in the UK has upped the appeal of ESS, and the show is seeing a diversification of its visitor database. Organisers have revealed that its most strongly-represented sectors at last year’s show were visitors from the waste management, suppliers to environmental services, industry & manufacturing, engineering professionals, water management and treatment and local authority / research professionals.
Smart Display is a regular stand installer at the ESS with a primary focus on the Resource & Waste Management sector. This year however, the specialist designer and builder has increased capacity to take on exhibitors within all five sectors; Resource & Waste Management (RWM), Air Pollution Control (APC), Energy, Fuels & Decarbonisation (EFD), Water Resource Management (WRM) and Contamination & Land Remediation (CLR).
“ESS has really increased its profile in response to a rise in industry awareness about the importance and relevance of environmental issues,” says Smart Display sales manager Ben Rose. “The exhibitor list has expanded accordingly and, having expanded our own team, we are well-placed to take on further clients as the industry’s trusted partner for exhibition stand design and build.”
For new exhibitors in particular, Smart Display’s “one-stop-shop” approach can alleviate any of the usual challenges associated with exhibiting. As seasoned professionals, Smart Display takes care of every aspect of exhibiting, from bringing a brand’s initial design concept to life through cutting edge graphics, through liaising with the organiser to ensure that all electrics, rigging, health & safety and logistics are in place right up to handover the day before the show when the client arrives to a fully-installed stand, ready for business. Perhaps most importantly for the environmental sector, Smart Display will even carefully dismantle and store each stand’s elements for potential future re-use and an approach that doesn’t see disposal stand structures heading for landfill.
