Breaking new ground

The Smart Display team has its passports at the ready this season with a varied schedule that is cementing its position as leading international exhibition contractors. This quarter will see the team travel to Cologne, Atlanta, Nuremberg and Amsterdam within a ten-day window, delivering exemplary stand displays across three countries and two continents in addition to its domestic builds.

While Eisenwarenmesse (Cologne), Embedded World (Nuremberg) and Intertraffic (Amsterdam) are regular events for Smart Display, Atlanta is a new destination for the team. Drawing upon its experience building at fellow aviation shows European Rotors and the Farnborough Air Show, the team is making its debut at Verticon, the premier show in the USA for vertical take off and landing aircraft.

“Having built for our client Dart Aerospace at the last two editions of European Rotors, we were asked to replicate the stand presence at Verticon in Atlanta, Georgia this spring,” says Smart Display’s marketing manager Christina Chambers. “Re-using the element’s from previous shows reinforces the brand’s identity, while the addition of some new features tailor the exhibition stand to the US market and promotes its key product on an international platform. As UK businesses increasingly look to build a presence outside of the UK, we are strengthening our position as international exhibition contractors with every season that passes.”

Around 30 per cent of Smart Display’s installations are now carried out outside of the UK, and it’s a figure that is set to increase throughout 2026 and beyond. While all Smart Display’s clients receive a fully project-managed service for a frictionless journey to their exhibition, the management aspect is even more paramount when it comes to building overseas.

“The logistics involved for international builds can be overwhelming for brands,” says Smart Display’s production director Shane Riding. “We have an experienced team who are fully-versed in the requirements of customs, transport, logistics and varying international requirements for things like health and safety or rigging on-site, and utilising their expertise as international exhibition contractors frees up our clients’ time to focus on their business in the lead-up to the exhibition.”

Beyond March, Smart Display is already taking briefs from clients for shows in Spain, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and Portugal.
