Industry’s driving force
Road safety specialist Westcotec is revolutionizing its approach to trade shows this season with an innovative new stand design and a host of interactive demonstrations. Created by Smart Display for the Intertraffic exhibition in Amsterdam next month, the stand will demonstrate Westcotec’s newest developments designed to improve road safety across the UK and overseas.
Tasked with increasing awareness of Westcotec’s interactive flood monitoring system, Smart Display’s creative design team has incorporated a dynamic, real-time water height display into the brand’s new stand design. Other features include demonstrations of Westcotec’s live pedestrian detection system with an illuminated warning sign, and a specially-constructed roadway running through part of the stand for live demonstrations throughout the four-day event.
The new stand design builds upon the success of Westcotec’s previous Smart Display stand, which has been dismantled and re-used for several years at exhibitions all over Europe in line with the brand’s commitment to sustainability. Having increased its focus on innovation and development however, the time was right for a new stand design which aligned the brand’s newest advancements with its trade show presence.
The new innovative stand design is part of a wider expansion plan by Westcotec which aims to reposition the brand as a global player in the traffic safety industry. According to sales director Olly Samways, the employee-owned organisation has benefitted from a recent move into a new production facility, and the growth of its workforce.
“New team members are now supporting the manufacturing processes as well as the business development and organisation,” says Olly. “We will use the opportunity of our prominent position at Intertraffic to connect with end customers about out range of innovative solutions. We are excited to talk to potential distributors from other countries who we can work with to extend out supply out of the UK.

Established in Norfolk over 22 years ago, Westcotec has become a global force in the production of road safety products. Having initially specialised in speed and warning signs, the team branched out into further traffic safety solutions including flood warning devices, bridge height warning products and collision avoidance systems. The brand maintains full control over its production with design, development and manufacture all being carried out in-house, and now supplies local authorities across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
Having enjoyed a successful and productive edition of Intertraffic in 2022, Westcotec is returning to the biannual event seeking new connections with potential distributors who can expand its supply out of the UK.
