IN THEIR WORDS: LAMMA and inspiring innovation

Last week saw LAMMA host over 40,000 visitors who came out in force for the UK’s biggest showcase of farm machinery, agricultural equipment and technology for the farming industry. Despite the tough challenges of the last few years including the effects of the pandemic, the industry has come back stronger than ever. Here, Rachel Lewis, head of event marketing at event organiser Agriconnect, shares her thoughts on connecting industries and inspiring innovation.

Following the Covid pandemic, there has been a remarkable surge in enthusiasm for trade exhibitions. These events serve as vital platforms for industry professionals to come together, network, and explore the latest advancements in their respective sectors. As an exhibition specialist, we have witnessed this renewed energy firsthand. Today, we want to take a moment to celebrate the success of LAMMA, the UK’s premier farm machinery show, and highlight the growing importance of trade exhibitions in various industries.

LAMMA stands as a beacon of innovation, connecting farmers across a wide range of sectors with pioneering companies that offer cutting-edge agricultural machinery, technology, solutions and equipment. This dynamic showcase boasts over 650 exhibitors unveiling the latest innovations in tractors, combines, arable and grassland machinery. It is an unparalleled opportunity for attendees to discover new technology, services, and tools tailored to all sectors of agriculture.

What sets LAMMA apart is its ability to bring together both global brands and niche manufacturers under one roof. This collective display of industry leaders and emerging players creates an atmosphere of collaboration and inspiration. The show not only hosts exclusive machinery launches and UK debuts but also provides a platform for exhibitors to showcase their products and connect with customers. One of LAMMA’s exhibitors, Kubota, aptly summarised the significance of the show, stating, LAMMA is great to be able to connect with customers. It’s hugely important to our sales and marketing campaigns and a great opportunity to showcase our products. We use the show to help people engage with our brand and products.

The success of LAMMA is not limited to the number of exhibitors or the grandeur of the event. It goes beyond that. LAMMA has become an integral part of the farming community, enriching the lives of thousands of individuals connected to the industry. In 2024, LAMMA broke records with over 650 exhibitors and an astounding 40,000 visitors. The words of Managing Director, Nick Ornsien, perfectly capture the essence of LAMMA’s impact: “Trade shows like LAMMA are so important within the industry to inspire and connect, especially in farming and the wider agriculture sector when it’s crucial to day-to-day life.”

LAMMA returns to the NEC next year 15-16 January 2025.
