Headline act

One of Smart Display’s longest-standing clients has confirmed its position as the headline sponsor of next month’s Homebuilding & Renovating Show. Express Bi-Folding Doors has made the move in celebration of its tenth year of exhibiting at the event, which takes place at various locations throughout the year including Surrey, London, Farnborough and Glasgow as well as the flagship edition at Birmingham’s NEC.

Express Bi-Fold’s sponsorship coincides with the 30-year anniversary of the Homebuilding & Renovating show, and the door specialist will see its branding both on-site across the four day event, and on the show’s website and promotional literature leading up to the show.

“We’ve been steadily increasing the number of HBR shows that we attend and we have always found the quality to be very good,” says managing director Stephen Bromberg. “As the edition at the NEC is the national event, that is the one that we chose to sponsor. Our events at the NEC are crucial to us because the venue’s central location allows us to meet with customers from all over the UK, particularly customers who are based in the Midlands, Home Counties & Wales who struggle to reach our showrooms.”

Since first attending the HBR show ten years ago, Express Bi-Folding Doors has worked with Smart Display to install, dismantle and store its stand. The impressive 11 x 7m structure become somewhat of a touchstone at the HBR shows, reinforcing the brand’s presence as a consistent and longstanding supplier of quality doors to the homebuilding trade. Having now been erected and dismantled over 30 times, the stand is testament to the benefits of Smart Display’s commitment to sustainability and the advantages of a fresh approach to re-using exhibition stand elements.

“From the start, we knew that shell scheme wouldn’t work for us because of the nature of our products,” says Stephen. “Smart Display created a bespoke stand for us that displays our products at their best; an open plan space that doesn’t feel confined, but has the structural integrity to house some of our very heavy doors.

“Because our product is so bespoke, it would be difficult to get a return on investment from one event if we had the expense of building a one-off stand every time. Smart Display build this stand specifically for us and re-using it has saved us a lot of money, as well as offering the obvious advantage of keeping our stand elements out of landfill.”

Express Bi-Folding Door’s sponsorship of HBR is just one element of a packed scheduled for the brand next month. On the 13th March, Express Bi-Folding Doors will open its brand new Glasgow showroom just outside of East Kilbride. The new, 6000 sq. ft showroom is set over two levels, and will be opened by TV personality and Channel 4’s “The Restoration Man” George Clarke.

The Express team will then go on to divide and conquer to exhibit at both the HBR show on 21-24 March, and the Ideal Home Show at London’s Olympia on 22 March until 7 April.

“We’re incredibly excited about the month ahead, which is an incredibly busy and exciting March for us here at Express,” says Stephen. “The Homebuilding & Renovating Show has become a key date in our diary and we will have a heavy stand presence at the event, displaying our best and most popular products for the thousands of homeowners looking to find the right suppliers for their dream home.”
