Fine dining

International homeware event Ambiente has increased its focus on its dining section in response to a rise in dining-orientated buyers attending the exhibition. The Frankfurt-based show – which incorporates the four key product sectors of dining, homeware, giftware and office furnishings – polled its visitors’ areas of interest, and identified a greater demand for tableware and kitchenware for both the catering and domestic sectors.

“The registration level in the Dining segment is great – the western area is overbooked in terms of space,” says Thomas Kastl, director of Ambiente Dining. “For 2024 many crystal and glass manufacturers are back at Ambiente, and the glass industry in general has returned. We are delighted about both these returnees and our exciting new exhibitors, and are confident that the big players in the industry are all there.”

One such big player is Utopia Tableware, the Derbyshire-based supplier to the hospitality and branded tableware industries with an international presence. Utopia Tableware commissioned Smart Display to create a visually stunning stand at last year’s Ambiente, and the event was so successful that the company has once again brought Smart Display on board for 2024.

Occupying an impressive 15 x 13m space, the Utopia Tableware stand had to be designed in line with the brand’s core principals of precision, elegance and sophistication.

“Smart Display understood our brand vision and translated that effectively into the stand design,” says Josh Rammell, Utopia Tableware’s marketing manager Josh Rammell. “Our favourite aspect of the stand was its design integration, which harmoniously blended our brand’s visual identity with functionality, ensuring that visitors experience the essence of Utopia Tableware at first glance.”

Building upon the success of its 2023 design, Smart Display has updated Utopia Tableware’s stand for 2024 with more colour, and striking hanging banners to maximise the space above the stand. The ample space is the perfect showcase for the brand’s new collections, which will launch to an international audience at this year’s edition of Ambiente.

“Our upcoming collections set to debut at Ambiente represent the fusion of innovation with timeless design,” continues Josh. “These collections span glassware, ceramics, plastic drinkware, cutlery and table presentation, and underscore our brand’s evolution while maintaining our core values. Trade shows are pivotal to our business strategy, and Ambiente provides an unparalleled platform for us to showcase our offer to a global audience.”

The range of tableware brands in halls 10 and 11 has increased so much for 2024 that fringe programme presentations have been moved out to the showground’s foyers.

“This year’s Ambiente Dining offers even more potential for new contacts and synergies,” says Thomas Kastl. “Wholesalers, retailers, commercial traders, specialised contract business, hospitality buyers, outfitters, project planners, distributors, hoteliers, caterers, chefs and restaurants will all get their money’s worth in Frankfurt.”

Ambiente takes place at Messe Frankfurt on 26 – 30 January. Head over to Utopia Tableware’s stand in Hall 11, stand D49, and be inspired by how Smart Display can bring your brand to life.
