Homeward-bound for European Rotors
European Rotors will host its fifth edition in its inaugural city of Cologne this year. Following its launch in the German city back in 2021, the event has since enjoyed successful editions in Madrid and Amsterdam, but returns to the Koelnmesse for a poignant event this November.
Bringing together over 230 exhibitors and a stunning display of over 20 different aircraft, European Rotors has become a highlight on the calendar for over 4600 visitors annually. And, five months ahead of the 2025 edition, organisers have hinted that the event will be its biggest to date with an increased floor space, and an increased portfolio of exhibitors.
“In advance of the 2025 show, current exhibitors were invited to reserve their booth space, and the number of companies choosing to make advance reservations exceeded the number of past years,” explains Fredrik Kampfe, board chair for headline event sponsor the European Helicopter Association. “Now as we look forward to European Rotors 2025 in Köln, we have registered a record number of exhibitors and square meters of exhibition space, and we invite all exhibitors and visitors from 2024 to give us feedback so that we can make sure that the 2025 edition becomes the best show ever. Let’s reach further together – welcome to Köln 2025!”
The ongoing theme of Shaping the Future of Vertical Flight continues to resonate through the fifth edition of European Rotors, as brands and enthusiasts come together to achieve best practice throughout the industry. A commitment to developing eco-friendly technologies, addressing pressing topics such as electric vertical take off and landing, advancements in safety protocols and the integration of digital technologies in rotorcraft operations are all hot topics at this year’s event, backed by a thought-provoking seminar programme designed to engage professionals.
Having designed and installed four stands at last year’s event, Smart Display is already designing for brands returning to European Rotors in Cologne. Feedback from last year’s line-up of Smart Display clients was overwhelmingly positive, with clients from the UK, Europe and Canada reporting a frictionless journey and seamless logistics, as well as statement stand design.
“Everything went amazingly at last year’s edition of European Rotors,” says Danya Leyva, marketing specialist at Montreal-based helicopter specialist Dart Aerospace. “We received the best service and quality from all the team at Smart Display!”
For fellow Smart Display client Andrew Priestley, appointing a UK-based stand designer to install overseas took the challenges out of the entire process.
“If we were building the stand and transporting the merchandise ourselves, exhibiting overseas would be a challenge,” says Andrew, who is the sales manager for UK-based parts supplier Helispares. “But Smart Display takes all of those challenges away. We feel like we are dealing with a company that actually cares and gives us 100 per cent, even though we are one of many customers.”
In the lead up to the exhibition, the team at Helispares has also found having a local UK stand builder to be advantageous.
“It’s just easier to have someone local, in the same timezone that we can meet in person if necessary,” admits Andrew. “It’s important to travel overseas to speak to those companies who may not have considered looking outside of mainland Europe for their supply needs, and it is made so much easier by working with Smart Display. We literally just have to pack our bags and business cards and turn up at the show.”
Inspired by the positive experiences of Andrew and all the team at Helispares, fellow helicopter parts supplier Alpine Air Support also appointed Smart Display to take care of its stand design and build.
“I didn’t want the language barrier that comes with working with a local stand contractor when we first worked with Smart Display for the Madrid edition,” says Peter Lewis, CEO at Swiss-based Alpine Air Support. “The Smart Display team produced a really good proposal with excellent designs and the communication has been great.”
As well as putting together new ideas for its existing customers, Smart Display is accepting new enquiries from exhibitors in the UK, Europe and the US looking to secure a frictionless journey and an exemplary stand presence at this year’s landmark edition of European Rotors in Cologne.
