Deep sea thriving

The subsea sector is preparing to dive back into the exhibition circuit with its next key industry event Ocean Business. Taking place at Southampton’s National Oceanography Centre next month, Ocean Business follows hot on the heels of Subsea Expo, which closed up after three successful days over 500 miles away in Aberdeen back in February.

With key issues such as defence, sustainability and AI defining the next chapter of subsea matters, Ocean Business is taking place at a crucial time for the marine industry. This year’s edition will be its biggest to date, welcoming more exhibitors than ever displaying the latest innovations in sensor technology, underwater robotics and imaging technology to increase its depth of understanding of the deep-sea environment.

Having previously worked with leaders in the subsea field including Beam and the Doris Group, Smart Display was only too happy to being new client NOR Offshore Rental onboard for this year’s edition of Subsea Expo. Initially tasked with creating a 6 x 6m island presence for this supplier of subsea equipment for hire, Smart Display has now been appointed to reconfigure NOR’s stand for Ocean Business next month.

“Smart Display were a friendly team who were brilliant to work with, offering a smooth process from start to finish,” says NOR Offshore Rental’s commercial manager Dale Williamson. “Subsea Expo was a busy show with lots of good conversations and the feedback on the exhibition stand was great – everyone was very complimentary and said that the stand had the wow factor.

Now for Ocean Business, we are going to increase our market presence within the industry and showcase what services we can provide to the market as we did at Subsea Expo. Ocean Business is a huge deal for our industry; it’s one of the major shows for all things subsea technology related and it’s one that you don’t want to miss. It’s the conversations and opportunities that can happen at trade shows that keep us coming back – you never know who you might meet.”

NOR Offshore Rental is one of 350 exhibitors heading down to Southampton for Ocean Business on the 8-10 April next month.

“Ocean Business is renowned for bringing state-of-the-art innovation to a wider audience, and this year looks likely to be memorable for ground-breaking announcements,” says Cheri Arvonio, event director at show organiser Diversified Communications. “We’re delighted to be at the heart of this forward-thinking global community, and can’t wait to see you in April for three days of pioneering developments across the ocean technology sector.”
