Building bridges

The InstallerSHOW has announced a new partnership with the Chartered Institute of Building for its 2024 edition, cementing its position as the key industry event for building and construction. As the largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership, the CIOB brings with it 190 years of experience and up to 48,000 members from 100 countries worldwide. Specifically, the body will host its own member events at the show, contribute to the seminar programme, and encourage its members to attend and network with the show’s 600 plus exhibitors.

“The CIOB is proud to be partnering with the InstallerSHOW 2024,” says Julie Walters, business development manager at the CIOB. “It allows our members to explore all the exhibitors and participate within the seminar sessions occurring at such a critical time for the industry as well as seeing and exploring the new innovations and technologies being introduced. With the expansion of the show, it is even more relevant than ever that the CIOB and its members are in attendance.  We look forward to this collaboration in 2024 and beyond.”

The partnership comes at a critical time for the industry, with shifting regulations affecting professionals and highlighting a greater need for clarity. The Building Safety Act – which was introduced in 2022 – continues to impact building professionals, while legislation surrounding net zero and the phasing out of fossil fuel heating is another key factor for suppliers to the trade.

“As the programme at this year’s InstallerSHOW has been enhanced, the content has become even more pertinent to CIOB members, especially the Housing Hub, the Elemental Arena and the Climate Solutions Theatre,” says Nathan Garnett, the business development director at event organiser Lyrical Communications. “The CIOB’s partnership with InstallerSHOW 2024 provides an ideal opportunity for its members to network with installers and specifiers, and we look forward to the CIOB staging its own member events at the show and joining in key debates on sustainability, building safety, skills and more.”

Pre-registration indicates that the InstallerSHOW will welcome 20,000 attendees to Birmingham’s NEC across the three-day event. As well as 600 exhibitors, visitors can look forward to new feature areas including InstallerTRADES – where real professionals will host interactive demonstrations of tools and workwear available at the show – and Installer Kitchens & Bathrooms, showcasing innovative new designs for the home. InstallerFUTURES will also make a return for 2024, welcoming students who want to learn more about trades such as bricklaying and carpentry.

As a regular stand builder at the event, Smart Display will once again be out in force at the NEC, designing and building a range of stands. If you have booked your space and still need stand building services, get in touch today and be inspired by our portfolio of past stand designs.
