Best in show

PATS Telford drew to a close yesterday, and the general consensus across the pet care industry was that the exhibition was one of the most buoyant to date. Four stands in particular were happy to report two solid days of good business, as well as a lot of praise for their innovative exhibition stands.

Barking Bakery, Burns, Catit and Sniffers made up Smart Display’s portfolio of clients this year, and each was delighted with their bespoke exhibition stand. We worked with each exhibitor to create a space that incorporated their branding, product and logistical requirements, and the result was four contrasting stands that were arguably the best in show.

“Everyone comments on the stand and says how much they love it,” says Emma Bowes, head of commercial at the Barking Bakery. “It’s a fun brand which is replicated in our design, and no-one has a pink stand so it attracts attention. We do also find that people are recognising the brand more because we re-use the stand from one show to the next.”

Fellow exhibitor Sniffers Pet Care enjoyed a similar level of praise for its stand, which had undergone some changes since its last use.

“We wanted our branding to really pop out this time, and so many people have commented on the impact,” says Rachael Bancroft, national account manager. “We took the advice from the Smart Display team with regards to the lilac carpet, and we love the result! It’s really worked for us. We are now looking to re-use elements of the stand for our next show Crufts in March.”

For our newcomer Catit meanwhile, seeing their stand for the first time was a pleasant surprise that surpassed their expectations.

“We are launching a new product here at PATS so the stand had to be the right platform from which to do that,” says Ian Parker, sales manager. “We arrived to see the stand complete and we were ever so pleased; it definitely stands out compared to the other stands around us, and it’s attracted the right sort of attention. We love the backlit logo and the impact of the branding and basically it’s done the job; we’ve had a busy few days and seen the customers we wanted to see.”

For Smart Display regular Burns Pet Nutrition, the consistency of the stand build made for a seamless exhibition experience and two days of good business.

“This show and this stand just works really well for us,” says marketing manager at Burns Pet Nutrition Kate Johnston. “We’ve had a busy two days of business with no problems as usual. We are being a bit more selective as to where we show, but PATS is a good opportunity for us to touch base with our current clients and the Smart stand always works for us.”
