1. Purpose
At Smart Display we recognize our responsibility to minimize the environmental impact of our operations, from the design and construction of exhibition stands to logistics and on-site installations. This Sustainability Policy outlines our commitment to sustainable practices that support environmental protection, resource efficiency, and social responsibility within the exhibition and events industry.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all areas of our business, including:
• Design and manufacture of exhibition stand components
• Material sourcing and procurement
• Transportation and logistics
• Installation and dismantling
• Waste management and recycling
• Office and administrative operations
3. Our Commitments
3.1 Environmental Responsibility
We aim to:
• Reduce waste by designing for reuse and modularity.
• Use sustainable materials (e.g., FSC-certified wood, recycled or recyclable panels, low-VOC paints, eco-friendly finishes and aluminium).
• Minimize carbon emissions through efficient logistics planning and use of local suppliers where possible.
• Reuse and refurbish stands and components for multiple events.
• Recycle materials responsibly at the end of each project.
• Monitor and reduce energy use across our operations.
3.2 Design & Build Practices
We will:
• Prioritize designs that allow for efficient disassembly and reusability.
• Offer clients sustainable stand design options and communicate the benefits.
• Use digital tools (e.g., 3D modelling) to reduce prototyping waste.
• Minimize single-use plastics and packaging.
3.3 Supply Chain & Procurement
We are committed to:
• Working with suppliers who demonstrate sustainable practices and focus on sustainable products.
• Selecting materials based on environmental impact, lifecycle, and recyclability.
• Preferring local or regional suppliers to reduce transportation emissions.
3.4 Waste Management
We strive to:
• Segregate and responsibly dispose of all waste.
• Partner with recycling facilities to maximize material recovery.
• Track and report waste levels to inform ongoing improvement.
3.5 Transportation & Logistics
We aim to:
• Consolidate transport loads and optimize delivery routes.
• Encourage use of low-emission vehicles where possible.
• Explore carbon offsetting for long-distance logistics.
3.6 Office & Administration
We promote:
• Energy efficiency in the workplace (e.g., LED lighting, smart heating/cooling).
• Encourage responsible use of water within the workplace.
• Adequate insulation across all buildings.
• Digital documentation to reduce paper use.
• Recycling and responsible disposal of office materials and e-waste.

6. Responsibility and Accountability
Creative Director Nathan Hesslewood will be primarily responsible for overseeing the implementation of the points mentioned within this policy, however all employees are expected to support and uphold our sustainability objectives in their daily work
