A hire calling

The Executive Hire Show is already 96 per cent sold out for its February edition – and Smart Display is proud to be working alongside the show as a specialist exhibition stand installer.

The Executive Hire Show – which returns to its home at the Coventry Building Society Arena on 14 and 15 February – brings together suppliers of tools, equipment and plant hire with professionals looking to hire quality product. Launched in 2007, the show has become an essential date on the calendar and, as events director Chris Moore explains, it continues to gather pace from one season to the next.

“2023 was a record-breaking year with the show witnessing an overwhelming attendance of over 2000 hire professionals; a testament to the resilience of the compact plant hire and equipment industry amidst economic challenges,” he says. “The 2023 show set a benchmark with collaboration at its heart, and we anticipate an even bigger and better event in 2024.”

For Smart Display, taking several clients out to such a vibrant show is always a calendar highlight. The specialist exhibition stand designer and installer took four clients out to last year’s exhibition; Trime UK, Pramac, Tsurumi Pumps and the Hire Supply Company.

“We tend to find that we increase our portfolio of customers when we attend a show regularly, because brands see what we can do and start to enquire as to who designed and installed our clients’ stands,” says Smart Display sales manager Ben Rose. “It’s great news that the show is almost sold out, and we are looking forward to heading back next year. We have capacity for new projects, so now is the perfect time to start thinking about your stand arrangements.”

New exhibitors would join a stable of satisfied customers, many of whom trust Smart Display to install and dismantle their stand from one show to the next for cost-efficiency, sustainability and brand continuity.

“We have been so impressed with Smart Display that we have just signed up with them for the next two years,” says John McGhee, group marketing manager for the Hire Supply Company. “After 30 plus years of attending and exhibiting at trade shows in the UK and around the world, it’s a great feeling to know that you can work with a stand designer and builder and not have to worry about how it’s all going to go together. With the Smart Display team, you are in great hands.”

Working with a trusted and established stand designer is particularly appealing to those breaking into exhibiting for the first time. To date, 24 of the Executive Hire Show’s exhibitors are new faces, and Smart Display offers an extra level of reassurance to those new to the game.

“We literally take care of everything, from booking the space to submitting risk assessments and liability insurance,” says Ben. “Our customers don’t have to worry about on-site electrics or rigging; once the stand design is approved, they can rest assured that all they have to do is turn up on the day and start doing business within their bespoke brand environment.”

Those in the plant, equipment and tool hire trade have a lot to gain from exhibiting at the show. As well as attracting senior executives from the purchasing departments of national hire operations, the event is well-attended by independent hire outlets. Last year saw 86 per cent of visitors identifying as independent hirers, making for an unrivalled platform for networking with potential customers from all over the UK.

Only six stands currently remain at the Executive Hire Show. If you are looking to attend, or have already booked your space, get in touch with Smart Display and see what we can do for you.
